The exhibition concept “hello: an exhibition about exploring the space between us” was developed in the Exhibition Design course at FH JOANNEUM. The exhibition explores interpersonal relationships, communication, and interaction. I was responsible for defining the visual style, handling the editorial design, creating animations and, in collaboration with my team members, determining the exhibition’s presentation. The 3D renderings of the exhibition were created by my group members Simon Schlager and Manuel Reischer.

The exhibition is divided into four sections. Each of these sections describes a different type of communication, represented by the key visual on the outside of the containers. For example, the characters on the first container (orange) are still placed very close together, as this section focuses on hugs and nonverbal communication. The last container (purple), deals with communication from a distance, which is why the characters in the key visual are placed farther apart.

The containers offer a wide variety of interactive experiences designed to help visitors discover the positive aspects of communication in a hands-on way. In addition to a cozy hanging pouch in the first container, there is, among other things, a tin can telephone that can be used to communicate with the next station.
